Let’s admit it: Until only a few months or years ago, we would have considered it impossible that someone calls for genocide in public, meaning the murder of an entire population. But that’s exactly what happened on the 29 April 2014 in Ukraine. On a main Ukrainian television station: hromadske.tv, the journalist Bogdan Butkevitsch from the newspaper “Ukrainian Week” propagated his view about how to best solve the current crisis in Donbass. He made the brutal statement that there were “1.5 million superfluous people who should simply be killed”.
